Federal prosecutors have charged 20 people in a trafficking case involving nearly 1 500 firearms stolen from shipping officials noted facilities in macon and metro atlanta the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia announced Tuesday.
Prosecutors said Tremaine Snell broke into a Macon shipping facility on Jan. 10 and stole 469 firearms. Six days later, Snell, Tarik Winfrey and Marquez Crews, whom prosecutors identified as a member of the GoodFellas gang, allegedly broke into the same facility and took 293 more, for a total of 762 guns from Macon.
The first theft happened Nov. 29 and 30, 2025, when more than 700 Glock pistols were taken from a facility in Conley, according to prosecutors. Some of the stolen guns were later sold to undercover ATF agents, found in homes or seized from convicted felons.
A federal grand jury returned six indictments on Sept. 23 with charges including firearms trafficking, drug trafficking, illegal gun possession and theft of interstate shipments. Agents later served search warrants at 12 locations across metro Atlanta and seized guns along with methamphetamine, marijuana and fentanyl.
U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg said the GoodFellas is an Atlanta-based gang that recruits in neighborhoods and in Georgia jails and prisons. Two defendants, Samuel Harris and Demontra Williams, are considered fugitives.
