Kemp said the Hyundai family of brands has been an incredible partner to Georgia and that the decision by Hyundai Transys reinforces that valued friendship. Jaekyun Choi, president of Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain, said the company and the State of Georgia have grown together over the past two decades through capital investment, job creation and talent development. He called the project an important milestone that demonstrates Hyundai Transys firm commitment to a long-term partnership with the State of Georgia.

West Point Mayor Steve Tramell said the retention of more than 1,200 jobs and creation of over 300 new positions reflects the strength of West Point automotive industry and creates meaningful opportunity for residents. Troup County Commission Chairman Patrick Crews thanked Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain for continued investment and partnership in Troup County.
