Seven students from DeKalb County proudly graduated from the Model Atlanta Regional Commission (MARC) youth leadership program, celebrating a significant milestone alongside 43 peers from 11 counties. The program, focused on real-world issues, empowers young leaders through workshops, interactions with innovators, and community visits. As it marks its 25th year, MARC remains free for 9th and 10th graders in the ARC region, urging new applicants to apply by May 3.
In a remarkable achievement, seven students from DeKalb County have successfully graduated from the Model Atlanta Regional Commission (MARC) youth leadership program. This graduation marks a significant milestone not only for the students but also for the community, as it was celebrated during a ceremony that honored a total of 43 students hailing from an impressive 11-county region.
The MARC program, which has been a beacon of leadership development, focuses on vital real-world issues that resonate deeply within the community. Participants delved into topics such as housing affordability, responsible water usage, and the challenges brought by limited transportation options. Spanning over six months, the program offered students a comprehensive understanding of regional dynamics.
