ATLANTA, Ga. — Cardinal Glass Industries plans to permanently close its Statesboro manufacturing facility, affecting 115 employees, according to a WARN notice filed with the Technical College System of Georgia. The WARN notice filed lists the Statesboro site for permanent closure.

The company notice lists the facility at 8373 Zell Miller Parkway in Statesboro and identifies the closure as permanent. The first employee separation date is listed as December 6, 2026, with a second separation date of June 30, 2027.

The notice lists production, leadership, and support positions among those affected. It also indicates that the affected employees are not represented by a labor union. State WARN tracking shows Cardinal Glass Industries has one WARN filing on record in Georgia, affecting 115 workers, Effective Dec 6, 2026.

Trade coverage said Cardinal cited changing conditions in the laminated glass market as the reason for the closure. Cardinal LG President Kyle Petersen said the company has developed a plan to maintain a stable, uninterrupted supply of its products.

Cardinal acquired the Statesboro facility from Apogee Enterprises, the parent company of Viracon Statesboro, in 2021. Apogee had previously announced plans to close the plant as part of a broader restructuring before reaching an agreement to sell it to Cardinal.

Workers facing separation remain employed with regular pay and benefits until the effective dates. Rapid Response services through workforce centers can help affected employees with career counseling and retraining as the plant winds down.
