ATLANTA, Ga. — Early voting is over, and Georgians who have not cast a ballot yet get one more chance on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Voting runs from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., and anyone in line at 7 p.m. is allowed to vote.

Election Day voting has one firm rule: you must vote at your own assigned precinct. Your polling place is printed on your voter registration card and is also listed on My Voter Page, the state’s online lookup, which shows a personalized sample ballot. Advance in-person voting ended Oct. 30.

Polling places do move. In Gwinnett County, the state’s most populous county, election officials said eight precincts are voting in new locations this year, including one moved on short notice after a change in property ownership. County officials there urged every voter to confirm a polling location before heading out, which is good advice anywhere in the state.

Bring a valid photo ID such as a driver’s license or U.S. passport. A free Georgia voter ID card is available from any county board of registrars. Voters whose eligibility cannot be confirmed at the polls can cast a provisional ballot, which counts if the problem is cleared up with county registrars within three days. A voter who goes to the wrong precinct after 5 p.m. and cannot reach the right one may sign an affidavit and vote provisionally.

The ballot is long. Races and questions vary by address, but they include a U.S. Senate seat, all 14 congressional districts, the governor’s race, the agriculture, insurance and labor commissioners, every seat in the General Assembly, nonpartisan races for appellate judges and justices, sheriffs and district attorneys, school board seats, proposed constitutional changes and local questions such as SPLOST sales taxes.

Voters who already have an absentee ballot can still return it in person to a county drop box or registrar’s office until polls close. Anyone who runs into trouble at a polling place can call the county registrar or the state elections office. The state numbers are 404-656-2871 for metro-area callers and 877-725-9797 for everyone else.
