Metro Atlanta is set to welcome a wave of new dining experiences this fall, with a variety of openings and events catering to diverse palates. From the return of vegan ice cream to an expanded Michelin-recognized restaurant, the local food scene is buzzing with excitement.
The vegan ice cream shop The Creamy Spot will reopen its doors on September 13 at Pittsburgh Yards, after previously shutting down operations at Best End Brewery last year. Initially launched as a pop-up at The Window at The Met in Adair Park, it is owned by the duo Ken Katz and Jeannette Flores-Katz, who have also opened a pupuseria and market named La Bodega in Sylvan Hills.
Additionally, two new dining venues will debut on September 10 in Midtown at 1375 Peachtree. These include The Peacherie, a food hall consisting of three stalls, and Brasserie Lundi, an upscale French restaurant. The renovated building also houses other tenants, including a FedEx store and medical offices.
In other news, Kamayan ATL, a Michelin-recognized Filipino restaurant, plans to relocate to a larger space at Asian Square on Buford Highway by early next year, with an anticipated opening by the end of February 2026. This new location will provide seating for up to 100 guests and is set to expand its catering services, as well as introduce beer and wine selections.
On a less positive note, Uncle Jack’s Meat House in Peachtree Corners has closed its doors after a brief tenure since opening in 2021. Meanwhile, restaurateur Steven Hartsock has sold his beloved Cumming establishment Socks’ Love Barbecue to Brian and Kelly Tam, the owners of Tam’s Backstage, with assurances that minimal changes will be made to the menu.
Chef Jarrett Stieber of Michelin Bib Gourmand Little Bear has announced that his restaurant will begin serving dinner on Monday evenings starting September 29, in addition to its current Wednesday to Sunday hours.
September is also celebrated as Brookhaven Restaurant Month, featuring special food deals and exclusive dining events throughout the month. The festivities will culminate in Taste Brookhaven on October 2, showcasing the area’s culinary talents.
Further adding to the local dining scene, Panda Fest returns to Atlantic Station from September 5-7, bringing over 70 food and artist vendors, making it one of the country’s largest outdoor Asian food festivals. In addition, Taste of Smyrna is scheduled for September 6 at City Hall, featuring participation from over 25 restaurants, along with drinks and live music. Admission is free for attendees.
The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is slated to take place at Home Depot Backyard from September 11-14, where tickets for the tasting tent are still available, promising a weekend filled with culinary delights from local and national artisans.
