Kick off the festivities at the Atlanta Botanical Garden from 10 a.m. to noon. This family-friendly event promises an exciting line-up, including live music, creative bird feeder crafts, an adventurous wildlife scavenger hunt, and an intriguing earthworm display. General admission is required, making it a perfect outing for families eager to connect with nature.
For those who appreciate a guided experience, head over to Inman Perk Coffee for a free tour starting at 10 a.m.. This 1.5-mile sunset jaunt through the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum will enlighten participants on local tree species, but reservations are a must.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Hardy Ivy Park will be buzzing with live music, complimentary King of Pops treats, and a free plant giveaway for the first 100 attendees. This public event is designed to cultivate joy and community spirit.
As the day progresses, join a free bonsai tree workshop at the Kirkwood Arts Center at 4:30 p.m.. Experience live demonstrations that will introduce the delicate art of bonsai cultivation.

The Dogwood Library is hosting a special Earth Day event focused on planting spring herbs and flowers. With materials provided, it’s an excellent chance for community members to dig in and learn—free entry ensures it’s accessible to all.
Join in on the creative fun at Piedmont Park for an Earth Day-themed painting class. Not only will participants leave with a masterpiece, but part of the proceeds will benefit the Piedmont Park Conservancy. Ticket purchase and registration are required.

For the do-it-yourself enthusiasts, the Krog Street Market invites participants to a planting workshop from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.. With materials provided, it’s a chance to get hands-on—entry is free!
The spirit of Earth Day extends throughout the week at Georgia Gwinnett College, featuring a film screening of “Cigarette Surfboard” on April 22, followed by a Sustainability Fair on April 23 and a clean-up and planting day on April 25. All events offer free admission.
In addition to these citywide events, students at Ralph J. Bunche Middle School will engage in meaningful environmental projects such as planting flowers and recycling plastic bottles into bird feeders, continuing the legacy of Earth Day.
