Atlanta – Upcoming Civil Mediation Training Scheduled for September 2025

The Miles’ Atlanta Resolution Center is set to host a General Civil Mediation Training program from September 11-14, 2025. This comprehensive training is approved by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution (GODR) and is designed to equip participants with essential mediation skills.

The training will be instructed by a team of experienced mediators: Joe Murphey, who has mediated over 3,000 cases, Greg Parent, and Peggy Roth. Participants will engage in real-world, hands-on experiences that emphasize practical application of mediation techniques throughout the program.

Practicum and Networking Opportunities

Included in the training is a two-day practicum scheduled for September 20-21, 2025. This practicum features five hands-on simulations that allow attendees to practice their newly acquired mediation skills in a supportive environment. In addition to the training and practicum, attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with peers and professionals during a cocktail reception hosted with Miles’ neutrals, enhancing the networking aspect of the program.

Upon completion of the training, participants will also receive three months of free Continuing Legal Education (CLE) access from the Education Portal, further supporting their professional development in the field.

Limited Availability

The upcoming training program is limited to just 12 attendees, making early registration highly encouraged for those interested in participating. Individuals seeking to reserve their spot or requiring further information are invited to contact Tangela Richmond, the Director of Education, at 470-668-2967 or via email at training@milesadr.com.

Background Context

Mediation is a crucial alternative dispute resolution method, enabling parties to resolve conflicts with the help of a neutral third party. The process is often less formal and can be less costly than traditional court proceedings, providing a more collaborative atmosphere for settling disputes. The demand for trained mediators has led to increased interest in quality training programs, such as the one offered by the Miles’ Atlanta Resolution Center.

As mediation becomes more integral to conflict resolution strategies across a variety of sectors, the importance of proper training cannot be overstated. Programs like the General Civil Mediation Training serve to prepare professionals, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to facilitate successful mediations effectively.

This training opportunity represents a significant commitment to developing mediation expertise and is expected to attract participants keen to enhance their qualifications in this increasingly relevant field.
