CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson football picked up its second commitment for the 2028 recruiting class on Thursday when Wright Martin, a junior tight end at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, chose the Tigers.

Martin stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 250 pounds. He is a three-star prospect, and the 247Sports Composite lists him as the No. 23 player in Tennessee. Clemson beat out offers from Ohio State and Georgia, among others.

He joins Calhoun, Georgia, quarterback Trace Hawkins as the only other pledge in the class so far.

Football runs in the family. His father, Ingle Martin, is his head coach at Christ Presbyterian and once played quarterback at Furman, where he left as the school’s career passing leader with 6,277 yards. Ingle Martin later became a fifth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2006.

The younger Martin has made several trips to Clemson, including a game-day visit for the win over Georgia Southern this season. Through eight games he has caught 30 passes for 385 yards.
